AUGUST 2020
The year is starting its long wind-down and there is a resistance to its end that we will all feel over the next few months. As a result, this month in particular is characterized by barriers and obstacles that are - unfortunately - overwhelmingly unavoidable. The only ways to mediate these challenges are to adjust your expectations or be willing to lose favor in the eyes of others. As we transition from the brightness of summer to the more muted energy of the fall, options become fewer and less varied, while the need for options becomes more dire. This month, working as a collective is essential for any form of success.
LOVE & ROMANCE: Now is the time to protect your love relationship from scrutiny and outsiders’ opinions. The dynamic within the love relationship is what should be fostered, even if it means being misunderstood or mocked. Be wary of new love contracts at this time (marriages, proposals, living arrangements, etc.), unless you are fully certain they will be long-term.
SPIRITUALITY: This month spirituality joins forces with other areas of life to gain traction and power, especially politics. This is neither inherently good nor evil, but should be paid attention to closely. Efforts to practice spirituality “purely” - and apart from worldly concerns - will not be successful at this time.
FAMILY: Pay attention to trends in family members’ well-being. Multiple members of your family may be vulnerable to the same difficulties or circumstances right now. This is especially true in health and finances. Look for opportunities for a collective solution.
CAREER & MONEY: Start planning for a frugal period at the end of this year, continuing through the beginning of next year. For some, this may mean saving; for others, betting on a sure thing. Despite what your financial situation appears to be at the moment, adjust your spending and saving habits now.
HEALTH: Under the best conditions, changes in season create a collective stress and anxiety. To minimize the stress on your body, reduce your intake of oily foods and alcohol this month. Although, these items are often consumed to temporarily reduce stress, in the long-term they magnify stress and its associated emotions by holding them in the gut longer. To deal with stress, consume more water and get an additional hour of sleep each night.
